District Semi-Final on Monday

Game time is 2pm.  Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students.  Game to be played at the Pipeyard in Lorain County.

Bengals win Sectional Final

The Bengals beat Rocky River in the Division II Sectional Final game 1-0 !!  Dan Piascik pitched a complete game.  He scattered four hits and struck-out two batters.  Robbie Cramer scored the winning run and Collin Pecoraro had the game winning hit in the bottom of the 6th inning.  William Woodson had ten put-outs in centerfield including a game saving catch in the top of the 7th.

Next up:  The Bengals have a home game vs Trinity on Friday 5pm, travel to Wickliffe ( Coulby Park ) on Saturday 12:30pm.  The District Semi-Final game is Monday at the Pipeyard in Lorain vs Vermilion.  1st pitch is scheduled for 2pm.

Special Hall of Fame Raffle

As part of our wing night this year we are having a special Hall of Fame raffle.

Third Annual Nobby's Classic Schedule Set

The schedule has been set for the third annual Nobby's Classic this spring. It is sponsored by the CWRU baseball team and will be held the 12th of May. There will be a $5 admission charge and it is good for all three games.

  • 10AM Mentor v. Lake Catholic
  • 1PM Walsh Jesuit v. Amherst
  • 4PM Western Reserve Academy v. Benedictine

Cleveland Foodbank: Taste of the Browns a Success!

The Browns along with the Cleveland Foodbank Sponsored the 13th Annual Taste of the Browns on Monday evening.  For every dollar donated to the event the Foodbank can provide enough food for four meals.

Head baseball coach Brian Sliwinski attended the event: "What a great night!  The Browns and the Foodbank were successful on raising needed funds; and as an added bonus I was able to obtain autographs from past and present Cleveland Browns for our baseball fundraisers and other school events.  The players were very accommodating and happy to sign anything I had knowing that it was going to our program."

Coach Woody Preparing for Bengal Golf Outing




Coach Woody played Reserve Run on June 21, 2011 to prepare for the 11th Annual Benedictine Baseball Golf Outing. On the 12th hole, 308 yards away, Coach Woody "chocked down" on his driver and aced a hole in one on a par 4. Congratulations to Coach Woody on his first career hole in one. After celebrating the shot, Coach declared his squad the team to beat in this years outing.

Senior All-Star Games

Congratulations to Tim Szalay, PJ Spicuzza, and Jordan Durham who recently participated in the 53rd Annual GCBCA All-Star Game.  All three played key roles in their teams' 15-14 come from behind victory.  Durham was the winning pitcher and also had the game winning hit.
 
Zach Walker and Jake Marinelli will participate in the NEOBCA All-Star Game on Wednesday June 29th at Progressive Field.  Game time is 9:00, admission is free.
 

Home Run Derby

Jake Marinelli will compete in teh Lake County News Herald/ Lake County Captains Home Run Derby on Wednesday June 15th.  The HR Derby will take place immediately after the Captains game, which starts at 7:00pm.  Coach Woody Smith will pitch to Jake at the event.  Game ticket purchase is necessary and is good for both the game and competition.

2011 Schedule Taking Shape

itin The countdown to the 2011 season has begun.  The Cuyahoga River Conference games have been finalized and the independent portion of the schedule is taking shape.  Double-headers with Orange, Cleveland Heights, Bedford, and North Ridgeville are a big part of the season.  We also have single games versus Elyria, Mayfield, Eastlake North, Firelands, and our home-opener versus Cleveland John Hay are apart of our schedule.  We even have a couple of scrimmages set.

Many of our players are currently participating in fall baseball leagues and preparing for our off-season weight and conditioning program.  Keep an eye on the calendar at the bottom of the page for updates on the upcoming season along with other team related events.
