Bengals Win Season Opener

The Bengals opened the season this past Monday in what could have been the coldest season opener ever played.  With game time temps in the low 30's, and finishing at a frigid 25°F, the Bengals defeated Cleveland John Hay 29-0 in a rematch of last year's sectional championship game.

Jordan Durham was the winning pitcher while PJ Spicuzza led the way at the plate with four hits and driving in five runs.  As a team the Bengals collected 21 hits on the afternoon.

Let the Season Begin!

2005BaseballNewsTraining camp came to a close this morning with a brisk outdoor work-out at 8:30am.  The skies were blue, the sun was shining and the temperature was 25 degrees, the only way to play baseball in Cleveland, Ohio.

The season kicks off with a home game on Monday vs Cleveland John Hay.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 at Nobby's Ballpark on the campus of Case Western Reserve University.  Grab your winter jacket, hat, and gloves and come out to cheer  the 2011 Benedictine Bengals baseball team to victory.

Training Camp Opens Monday

Baseball season officially opens this Monday when the Bengals start their preparations for the 2011 season.  The Bengals finished with a 17-11 record in 2010; we are looking to improve with a veteran line-up and depth on our pitching staff.  This will be the final year competing in the Cuyahoga River Baseball Conference; all Benedictine High School athletic teams will be members of the North Coast League beginning fall 2011.
