The Varsity Baseball team has improved its record to 5-3.  This past week the offense took over as it scored 59 runs while winning its last 4 games.  The winning streak started on Wednesday with a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over University School.  Senior outfielder Taylor Branisel led the way with 2 hits, including a game winning RBI triple. Senior catcher  Ryan Kovar threw 2 runners out late in the game to help preserve the win. Soph. Anthony Korinek pitched 2 scoreless innings for his first Varsity win.

On Friday the Bengals traveled to North Ridgeville for a 11-1 win. Branisel once again led the way with 3 hits, junior 3B/CA Jake Marinelli added 2 hits.  Junior  Zach Walker pitched 4 innings for the win.

On Saturday the offense reminded us all of the 1995 Indians; the Bengals swept Orange 24-4 & 17-3.  Tim Szalay had a huge day; the junior shortstop went 6-8, scored 6 runs and had 8 RBI.  Junior P/OF/1B Jordan Durham recorded his first Varsity pitching victory in game #1.  Korinek pitched & won game # 2 with another solid performance.

After 2 weeks the offense leads the way for the Bengals.  Jake Marinelli (.551), Taylor Branisel and John Hromulak follow hitting (.500), Ryan Kovar (.400), Zach Walker (.387) and Tim Szalay (.354).

The Junior Varsity team is currently 5-1 and the Freshman team is 2-3.
